The 160-series has an outstandingly simple and light construction, making it the world’s lightest heavy duty sideloader. Though not as flexible for transferring as the 150 or 190 series, it’s a perfect choice for ground-to-ground lifting and high payloads. With it’s high lifting capacity of 36 tonnes it can quick and easily handle fully loaded containers.

CHASSIS OPTIONS

Gooseneck for transport of High Cube (9′ 6″) containers is available for for S, C and D chassis. All semi-trailers can be equipped to handle 45′ containers (other sizes on request).

The HAMMAR 160 can also be equipped with an E-chassis. “E” stands for Extendable. Much like the S-chassis it has sliding cranes. The rear crane is however mounted on an extended crane base section, specially designed for carrying 45′ containers. It allows the crane to slide past the rear end of the fixed trailer frame, positioning the rear crane in 45′ mode.

Extra plastic footplates

The plates can be placed under the HAMMAR support legs, when operating on soft ground. The pressure on the ground is then dramatically reduced. The plates are equipped with handles, and the weight is only 9.5 kg each. A holder is mounted on the HAMMAR chassis.

Automatic extra support legs

The two extra support legs on the opposite side of the handling side are fully automatic and are maneuvered from the remote control box.

Tool box, alloy

The tool box is made of anodised aluminium plate and the lid, the lock and the hinges are made from stainless steel. The box is fitted with double seals, both on the lid and on the box. The bottom of the box is protected by a heavy duty, laminated, wooden board.

Drawbar coupling

The VBG 795V is an all-round coupling for heavy centre axle trailers, multi axle trailers and dollies. Suitable for rigid as well as hinged drawbars.

Brake, electrical and ABS-connections at the rear, are included. The coupling is manually or automatically maneuvered and will be centre mounted, about 950 mm above the ground. The centre of the coupling, lengthwise, will be flush with the rear end of the HAMMAR superstructure or according to your request.

Central lubrication

Has an air pressure driven piston pump mounted on the HAMMAR which supplies all grease points on the cranes as well as on the trailer. Gives exact dosage and distribution of the lube with adjustable intervals. The grease reservoir is made from stainless steel and has a visual monitoring of the grease level. The system is controlled from a user interface mounted on the trailer. The control unit has LED-lights and surveys the pump function, the grease level in the reservoir and also has pressure alarm and low level alarm on lubricant level etc.. At power brakes (e.g. disconnecting the trailer) the lubrication program will always continue from previous point through memory storage.

Axle pressure gage

As the air-bellow pressure is always proportional to the load on the axle, one can measure the bellow pressure with a gage scaled in tonnes. The gage is filled with silicone-oil to withstand vibrations and is positioned, well protected, in the aluminum compartment at the rear of the HAMMAR. Range of measurement is max. 10 tonnes per axle.

ADR-equipment

All cables are ADR-approved. Two 6 kg powder extinguishers in cabinets, stop scotches with holders and dangerous-goods plate will also be included.

Spare wheel

An easily accessible spare wheel is mounted on the HAMMAR for quick replacement on the road.

High stacking capability

Two extra hydraulic support legs are mounted on the non lifting side to stabilize when stacking, together with extra outreach crane arms.

The HAMMAR can stack one container, of any height, on top of an 8’6″ (2.591 mm) high container on the ground, minimum height of the fifth wheel being 1250.

Maximum stacking capacity is 30 tonnes.

HAMMAR Safety +

The mass of the load and the load position is continuously monitored in relation to the sideloader trailer and the sideloader support legs positions, preventing the sideloader from entering a lift position, which may put man and machine in danger.

If the load enters an area where danger can occur, the operator is only allowed to bring the load back into a safe operating position.

The HAMMAR Safety + system is equipped with a display on which a number of variables are shown. The operator can continuously monitor the mass of the load, the load distribution between the cranes and the position of the load and support legs. On the display the operator can also see the total work hours, total number of lifts and the present system voltage. HAMMAR Safety+ allows the crane arms to be operated before placing the support legs on the ground, thereby giving easy access to connecting the hooks to the container corner castings.

HOPE – Electronic eye

An electronic system on the HAMMAR, based on two optical sensors, which will read the position of the container to be picked up and will light up a green light at the chassis front end. The indication light can be seen by the driver in the rear view mirror. Accuracy is ± 2 cm.
